Quecon Stands Ready to Support the FAA’s Air Traffic Control Modernization Effort

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has unveiled a bold, three-year initiative to overhaul the nation’s air traffic control infrastructure. This sweeping plan comes at a critical moment: commercial aviation has returned to pre-pandemic levels, and new aerospace entrants—such as drones, commercial space vehicles, and advanced air mobility—are rapidly reshaping the skies.

To meet these demands, the FAA is calling for urgent investments in modern technology, updated facilities, and more resilient communication systems. At Quecon Inc., we fully support this vision—and we’re ready to help make it a reality.

A Historic Upgrade. A Proven Partner.

The FAA’s modernization framework outlines a range of critical priorities, including:

  • Replacing outdated communications and radar systems with fiber, wireless, and satellite technologies.
  • Expanding real-time surface and airborne surveillance at over 200 airports, including in Alaska and the Caribbean.
  • Upgrading analog radio and voice switch systems to secure, IP-based infrastructure.
  • Deploying next-generation automation tools for better traffic flow and decision-making.
  • Rebuilding and modernizing ATC facilities to prevent costly service interruptions.

These initiatives are vital to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and long-term resilience of our National Airspace System (NAS).

As an SBA 8(a) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with deep experience supporting FAA programs, Quecon is proud to stand ready as a collaborative and capable subcontractor. We bring both technical excellence and a mission-driven mindset to every engagement.

Quecon’s Field Implementation Support Capabilities

Quecon delivers full-spectrum implementation support for FAA telecommunications infrastructure, from site preparation and equipment installation to operational cutover and decommissioning. We handle power upgrades, telecom equipment installations, and structured cabling—such as ethernet, fiber, and heliax.

Our team installs and maintains grounding systems, prepares facilities with racks, trays, seismic anchoring, and video walls, and supports outside plant (OSP) construction including conduit, hand hole, and manhole installation.

We provide antenna and microwave support—covering tower climbs, antenna installs and repairs, and waveguide systems—along with full decommissioning services, from equipment and cable removal to site restoration.

Quecon also performs detailed site surveys (telco, power avoidance, GPS, and facility layout) and offers ongoing operational support through circuit troubleshooting, cutover assistance, and preventive maintenance.

Our hands-on expertise ensures safe, efficient, and compliant implementation across FAA facilities and communications infrastructure.

Supporting the FAA’s Mission—Now and Into the Future

Modernizing the NAS is no longer a long-term ambition—it’s a national imperative. System outages, inefficiencies, and outdated infrastructure pose increasing risks to safety, economic competitiveness, and operational continuity. As the FAA rightly emphasized, delays are no longer acceptable.

At Quecon, we are proud to support any prime contractor leading this effort. We believe in collaboration, accountability, and delivering results that keep America’s skies the safest—and most advanced—in the world.
